As we know, the A350 XWB programme is one of the most successful widebody aircraft in the world. But, with the 777X-10 rumoured to reach production in the 2020s, Airbus are considering a stretched A350, the -2000. This could replace the A380 and the A380Plus. The thing is though, the A350-2000 is only possible if engine technology catches up.
There could be a Rolls Royce Trent 2000 that could power it or the GE-9X. the A350-1000 could also affect the range, making it shorter. There could be a -2000ULR but it is unlikely because a plane of this length would not be able to save enough fuel. I think there definitely could be a -1000 or -2000 Regional to fly flights such as Sydney-Melbourne and Los Angeles-New York transcontinental.
Thank you for reading.
Best wishes,
Leslie
